Hi, my name is Melody Blankenship. I started my nursing career in 2008 as an LPN in Alzheimer’s, rehabilitation, and long-term care. I obtained my Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 2017 and started my first hospital job on a Medical-Surgical unit. I changed to behavioral health nursing in July of 2019. In 2021, I began travel nursing as a medical-surgical nurse. 

Where I am Going

I began the BSN program because I wanted to be better prepared for other roles in leadership, management, and practice in a variety of settings. I know I want to continue onto graduate school, but I have changed my mind multiple times from Nurse Educator, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
